There are things in life that can never be understood. I try to understand what change is all about and how does one hold to what they believe in. Below find my understanding of the mentioned scenarials.
Change is inevitable for anyone
Hardly anyone among us is always comfortable with change most especially if that change does not seem to be making our life pleasant. It may be a new job or new boss, or a colleague who you were close to moving to another organization. Perhaps it is the end of a relationship or the start of a new one, or you could have been transferred to another town. No one can really know what is lurking around the corner waiting overturn our lives. Either way, change is inevitable. Life, people and situations change over time as we go through the various phases of life. Even in business change is unavoidable and must not be considered as a threat, but should be viewed as an opportunity that allows for transformative success. Since change is inevitable, we have no option but to adapt and in order to do that, we first need to stop focusing too much on what was and look at what is or else we might only get to see the present too late when it is disappearing. The American president John Fitzgerald Kennedy said that change is the law of life and that those who focus too much on the past and present risk missing the future. Sometimes when we are keen enough, we can even foresee the change coming allowing us the chance to prepare and adopt before we are caught unaware. How we react to change makes a big difference and shows how mature one is. It also allows us to continuously and endlessly recreate ourselves. Do not waste your time trying to resist change or understand why it happened for it may never be certain. Put your effort in trying to find a way to adapt to it and move forward instead.
You choose What You become
No one sums this up as well as Stephen Covey puts it. Your circumstances have a major impact on what you become and how you live and view life, but that doesn’t mean that your life has to be as it was in the past. If you put yourself to be a failure, then certainly you become one. If you decide to become the best in your class, career or even work place you will be rewarded with being the most excellent. This is achieved by promotions, good results in class, being regarded well in your line of work and so on. Stephen goes on and says that he is the product of his decision. By making the right choices you will turn out to be a success story, but on the flip side you would turn out to be a failure. According to him, every human being has been given endowments that enable us to respond, choose and change. These are free will, conscience, self awareness and resourceful imagination. We should not allow ourselves to victims and prisoners of our circumstances but rather ‘live out of our imaginations’ instead of our past. So have you had a life full of struggles? Have you made one bad decision after another that has made you miserable to the point where you feel like that is your portion in life? Shake off those thoughts and make a choice today to be better and greater but don’t just choose and sit back, get up and work towards living out your dreams and don’t let haters drag you back down.
